Only Kindness Rescue
Over 10 Years of Saving Lives
Who We Are
Only Kindness, Inc. is a no-kill, 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, all volunteer rescue organization whose focus is humane education regarding kindness to animals, responsible pet care and the importance of treating people, animals and the environment with kindness and respect. Our Mission promotes kindness to animals through proper care and training.
Over the past eleven years, we have saved countless lives and helped many families. We make a lifetime commitment to our fosters by always being there for our adopters. Our dedication is what attracts many of our adopters to become volunteers and board members.
But what makes us unique is that we don’t just rescue, foster, and adopt. We’re willing to go above and beyond to save lives and provide humane education, develop innovative ideas, focus on overlooked populations, and at-risk animals with boundless dedication; even if that means changing laws!
We stopped the ban on feeding homeless stray and feral cats in Wayne, NJ. Our founder personally addressed the council members and then worked with local officials for months to write an acceptable ordinance to create a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program to help care for the community cats. We have helped developed additional TNR programs and ordinances throughout northern New Jersey and at local universities. In addition to creating the programs, we also provide educational seminars to students about responsibility, humane care and the TNR programs. We also arrange low-cost spay neuter services.
Our founder has also written a Proclamation and Resolution that was made official in eight towns in Essex County, NJ, declaring October 20, 2016 as Pets of Domestic Violence Day, to raise awareness and offer support for the need for pet friendly domestic violence shelters. We coordinated a fundraiser, What About Me?, to help The Safe House (a domestic violence shelter affiliated with Clara Maass Medical Center) provide emergency stays in pet-friendly hotels; Seer Farms Sanctuary provide a temporary safe haven for pets at-risk until families may be reunited; and to help us care for pets left behind. We plan to continue our efforts and hope to make a greater impact across to state of New Jersey to put permanent co-sheltering services in to place, so domestic violence victims may escape abuse without having to give up their pets or leave them behind in danger.
We work tirelessly to care for animals in need, and especially focus on overlooked, at-risk populations. We do more than just care for animals and find their forever homes; we work to change policies and to improve the treatment of animals throughout our community. We are dedicated to having an lasting impact that goes beyond the pets that we rescue and hope that our innovative ideas will spread beyond our area.
We greatly appreciate tax deductible contributions of any kind to help us to continue our efforts!
